Thermographic Assessment of Electrical and Piping Systems
Vessel Name: Cruise Vessel (Confidential)
Date of Inspection: July, 2024
Registered Port: Nassau
Ownership: Major Cruise Operator
Operated by: International Cruise Line
The vessel required a comprehensive thermographic inspection of critical onboard systems to assess their thermal condition and identify potential anomalies under normal operating conditions.
OMNIA NAVAL LLC was commissioned to perform a structured infrared thermographic survey focused on electrical distribution systems and selected piping networks, with the objective of detecting early-stage faults, energy losses, and conditions that could impact operational safety and reliability.
OMNIA NAVAL LLC carried out a detailed thermographic inspection of the following onboard systems:
The inspection was conducted using calibrated infrared thermography equipment, allowing for non-intrusive analysis while systems remained fully operational.
The assessment focused on identifying thermal anomalies such as overheating components, load imbalances, and abnormal heat patterns associated with insulation degradation or potential leakage points.
Following the inspection, OMNIA NAVAL LLC identified several thermal irregularities affecting both electrical and piping systems.
Hotspots detected in electrical panels indicated localized overheating caused by connection issues and uneven load distribution. In addition, areas of increased heat dissipation were observed in sections of piping, revealing insulation deficiencies and minor energy losses.
All findings were documented and categorized according to severity, enabling the vessel’s technical team to implement corrective actions during scheduled maintenance periods without operational disruption.
Upon completion, OMNIA NAVAL LLC issued a Thermographic Inspection Report, detailing the identified anomalies, supporting thermal imagery, and recommended corrective measures.
